Time of day played a huge role in this setup. It’s super important to balance your color temperature and exposure to the windows so the shot doesn’t look “lit”. In this case we waited until blue hour and gelled the key light with 1/8 straw. (Straw is more yellow than CTO and warms up a daylight lamp nicely)
My key grip @trevortietjen rigged a 300X to the rafters overhead and blasted that puppy into the lens for that anamorphic lens flare.
The @aputure.lighting 600D was our key source, diffused with a 4x4 of 250 before an 8x8 frame with half grid. Double breaking is a great way to soften light while retaining some punch.
We added a couple siders and a beard to the key light to control the spill and a 4x4 floppy to add a little more contrast to the subject.
